A statement from the managing director
I stayed silent for 20 years, not because I had nothing to say, but because I had no way of saying it, my abusers taunting me repeatedly that no one would listen and there would be no escape for me – but they were wrong – and when I finally found the courage to break the silence, a project was born, Breaking the Silence!
With that, I travelled around the country speaking at over 200 organisations, highlighting the cause of domestic abuse on not only the victim but also on those close to them. Over the last year I have spoken to 1000’s of women, men and young people on my experiences of domestic abuse and forced marriage and how I managed to escape.
Our Mission & Aims
Our mission is to continually create innovative ways to deal with the silence generated from being a victim of domestic abuse, forced marriages or human trafficking.
- To provide services to the community in order that they learn practical ways to deal with this ever growing issue.
- Equip people from all walks of life with tools to make positive and informed life choices.
- Empower and encourage potential victims to break the cycle of intimidation and seek help.
- Equip communities with tools to recognise and respond to signs of abuse.
